THE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF FOLKLORE "HORA MARE"

The International Festival of Folklore "Hora Mare" will be held between 5th and 8th of August. It represents a complex folklore event organized within our municipality and the local population awaited it with big interest.

The 18th edition of the festival will gather folklore ensembles from Italy, Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria and will welcome the participation of "Baraganul" Ensemble which is coordinated by the County Cultural Centre from Calarasi. This well known ensemble is now completed with a "young wing". 

It will also participate the "Brauletul" Ensemble from Gradistea, The Ensemble of Borcea (Calarasi County) and "Doruletul" Ensemble from Facaieni commune (Ialomita County).

Like every year, the rural public will benefit by the program of the participant ensembles. Besides the shows which are scheduled to be performed in Dumbrava Park in Calarasi, all the participants will perform folklore moments within several communes of Calarasi County.

The general program of the event is structured as follows : the core performances (about 2h30 - 3 h), the parades of all ensembles scheduled for the opening and the closing ceremonies of the festival, the workshops and the street performances.
